Six Foot 9 - When It Rains Mixtape

There's so much good music coming out at the moment it's hard to keep track of it all. So, this here's the first 6foot9 mixtape. 12 songs showcasing whats been out and about recently (plus a couple of older choons that I'm still loving). It's a lovelly mix of genres, spanning indie-triphop-disco-(whatever you'd call Sleigh Bells). Put it in the car, turn it up and pretend its still summer.

When It Rains Mixtape:
1. Cover My Eyes (Costra Nostra Edit) - Major Lazer & La Roux
From the recently released LazerProof collaboration between Major Lazor and La Roux, its available online all over the place, im sure you can find it!

2. Wont You Tell Me (feat. Kid Cudi) - Rich Hill
Kid Cudi is plain cool, and after watching the first season of How To Make It In America (See earlier post), he's somehow cooler. This isnt his best work, but its new, and worth a listen.

3. On Your Side - Alex Kemp
From an old 90's Indie band Small Factory, this is Alex Kemp. This is the first track off a series of 'to be released' EPs over the next year. Its got a Whitest Boy Alive sound to it, its nice.

4. Jimmy Had A Polaroid - Math and Physics Club
Math and Physics Club are so good at songs that make you happy and kinda sad at once, this is one.

5. Belong - Washed Out
Released in 2009, this is one of those 'older choons'. Washed Out are from the States, and I look forward to their new album being released later this year.

6. My Keys, Your Boyfriend - Everything Everything
A wicked band, yet to release an album, this song is awesome, a very unique sound, release the album already.

7. Wash My Hands - Kormac
Get this album (Kormac - Worplay) which features DJ Yoda, Koaste (Black Grass,) DJ Cheeba (Solid Steel/Ninja Tunes,) Messiah J & The Expert, MC Little Tree and more. It was released in April and is a cool blend of trip-hop, jazz, hip-hop.

8. Can't Shake This Feeling - Grum
I'm kind of getting over the whole 80s revival/disco sound that any kid with a keyboard seems to be producing nowadays, however this caught my attention, it'll make you tap your foot.

9. Tell 'Em - Sleigh Bells
You'll either a. love this OR b. hate this. Sleigh Bells sound like a raw, unadulterated Crystal Castles. Its loud and its noisey, and its growing on me. The album is worth a listen.

10. Three Trees - Tanlines
Love Tanlines, Love this song. Their 'Settings' Ep is fantastic, this is a track off it.

11. When Your Love is Safe - Active Child
Soaring vocals and crunching analogue synths. This track is off the 'Curtis Lane EP'

12. Out Of Touch - Marching Band
A fun little cover released a couple of days ago by Swedish indie-pop band Marching Band. These guys are awesome. New album out soon too.
